Mapúa University was hailed champion in the student level of the Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers (PSSE) National Quiz Bee at the 2019 PSSE Annual National Convention last November 30 at Winford Hotel Manila with the theme “Work and Progress”.
The team from Mapúa was composed of students Paul Hendrik C. Cortez (BS Civil Engineering and Environmental and Sanitary Engineering), John Morris M. Andal (BS Environmental and Sanitary Engineering), Briant Luis M. Signo (BS Environmental and Sanitary Engineering), and Engr. Laurita R. Mendoza of the School of Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering as their adviser. Mapúa bested 15 other teams from five different schools nationwide.
Coverage of the competition are principles of environmental and sanitary engineering, specifically, Public Health Wastewater Treatment Design, Parameters Sanitary Landfill Design and Guidelines, Plumbing Water Supply Engineering Microbiology, and Parasitology General Knowledge.
