Mapúa secures spot among Asia’s best universities in 2022 QS Asia University Rankings

Mapúa University has demonstrated the strength and effectiveness of its educational programs and system despite the pandemic by retaining its 501-550 spot in the 2022 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings.

This is the second consecutive year that the Philippine premier engineering and technological school has claimed the rank.

“Mapúa’s latest QS Asia University Ranking is a landmark achievement for the University, as it validates the quality of our educational programs, learning delivery system, as well as faculty and staff. It is also an assurance that our students still receive the best education despite the current limitations,” said Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, president of Mapúa University.

The QS ranking is based on the school’s academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, international research network, citations per paper, papers per faculty, staff with doctorate degrees, international faculty and students, and inbound and outbound exchange students.

Fourteen other Philippine colleges and universities join Mapúa in the 2022 QS Asia University Rankings.

The University’s first entry in the QS Asia ranking was in 2019 and has been a consistent name on the list of esteemed academic institutions since then.

Aside from its top rank, Mapúa is also a 4 Stars-rated university under the QS Intelligence Unit’s (QSIU) QS Stars Rating System. Coming from 3 Stars in 2017, the Yuchengco-led university managed to attain an overall rating of 4 Stars in 2020, garnering high scores under various performance categories.
