Mapúa and Universiti Technology PETRONAS host a colloquium on renewable energy

Mapúa University and its partner university Universiti Technology PETRONAS (UTP) of Malaysia hosted the second leg of the 1st Mapúa University Mini-Colloquium Series with a webinar on renewable enery last November 27.

Dr. Bonifacio T. Doma, Jr., Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs of Mapúa, and Professor Ir M Shahir Liew, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Commercialization of UTP, welcomed the delegates of the colloquium.

Speakers of the colloquium were from Mapúa’s School of Chemical, Biological, Materials Engineering and Sciences (CBMES) and School of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (EECE) and UTP’s Center for Biofuel and Biochemical Research (CBBR) and Solar Thermal Advanced Research Centre (STARC).

The webinar on renewable energy was one of Mapúa’s initiatives as promoter of sustainable engineering in the country. It will be followed by another webinar on renewable energy with Universiti Islam Indonesia on December 15, and the joint-colloquium on Bio/Nanomaterials and their applications with Universiti Kebangasan Malaysia on December 10. The first colloquium of the series was held last November 24 with topics on advanced materials and chemical technology in partnership with Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.
