Mapúa, Smart to give pocket wifis to boost students’ online learning
Smart Partnership Director Mr. Roland Garcia (L) and Mapúa University Executive Vice President – Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer Mr. Raul Victor B. Tan (R) during the turnover event of the pocket wifi modems at Mapúa University last October 21
Mapúa University has received 30 pocket wifi modems and load cards from its partner telecommunications company Smart Communications, Inc. to further support its students in the online learning setup. The university will be giving the pocket wifi modems to select scholars through its Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
Tie-ups with the industry bolster the University’s already established online learning capability, aiming to further enable Mapúans to learn and perform academically online amid the pandemic crisis. The donated modems were pursuant to the memorandum of agreement between Mapúa and Smart signed last July.
