First Paskong Mapuan. Mapúa University students took a break from school works as they enjoy the Disney-themed Christmas celebration during the first Paskong Mapúan.
Mapúa University brought the joy and fun of the Christmas season to its campus as it kicked off its first-ever Paskong Mapúan.
The students and faculty enjoyed a day of excitement through various activities starting with a Christmas parade.
Students from different departments and programs exhibited their creativity with Disney-inspired floats and costumes as they marched around Intramuros.
They also showcased their talent in dancing during the field demo where the top three groups received cash prizes; P50 000 for the champion, while P20,000 and P10, 000 for the first and second runners-up, respectively.
“We hope that this tradition that we are starting this year will be continued through the years to come. It is our way of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, and of course, a way of giving thanks for the year that has passed,” Mapúa University President Reynaldo B. Vea said.
The university also held a eucharistic mass in the afternoon, followed by the institutional salu-salo where students received snacks for free.
Several bands and artists also performed in the concert party in the evening including pop artists Caleb Santos and Donnalyn Bartolome, and bands Better Days, The Vowels They Orbit, and La Luna.
The whole-day celebration was capped with a five-minute Disney-themed pyro-musical display, which could be viewed as far as Luneta and Quiapo.
