Engr. Kristopher Ray S. Pamintuan, a professor from the School of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering and Sciences, brought home honors from the 9th International Conference on Environment and Industrial Innovation (ICEII) held last April 25 to 29 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pamintuan, the lone representative from Mapúa University in the conference, received the Best Oral Presentation award for the two papers he presented in the Renewable Energy session. These papers are: Compartmentalization and polarization studies of a Plant-Microbial Fuel Cell assembly growing Cynodon dactylon; and Stacking efficiency of terrestrial plant-microbial fuel cells growing Ocimum basilicum and Origanum vulgare.
ICEE 2019 was jointly held with the 6th International Conference on Coastal and Ocean Engineering. First held in 2011, ICEII is organized by the Hong Kong Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering Society (CBEES), an independent scientific research and development organization, and the Environment and Agriculture Society (EAS), its arm for engineers and scholars in environment and agriculture discipline.
