Exemplifying the University’s tradition of excellence, Mapúa graduate Peter Matthew Paul T. Fowler topped the May 2018 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Fowler, who graduated cum laude, got an 83% rating to lead all 296 passers.
This feat further attests to Mapúa’s topnotch education and excellent board examination performance. Since 2000, the University has produced 350 topnotchers across 11 of PRC-administered licensure examinations.
Recently, Mapúa dominated the civil engineering and electronics engineering boards, with five Mapúans topping the May 2018 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination and a Mapúa alumna emerging as a topnotcher in the April 2018 Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination.
The University also listed four topnotchers in and was declared as the top-performing school for the April 2018 Electronics Technician Licensure Examination. In the January 2018 Architect Licensure Examination, Mapúa was recognized as the second top-performing school with two graduates topping the boards.
Founded in 1925, Mapúa is one of the leading universities in the Philippines. Its vision is to become one of the best universities in the world, initiating efforts that resulted in various international recognitions such as the accreditation of 11 engineering and three computing programs from United States’ ABET (www.abet.org) and the three-star overall rating for excellence from London’s Quacquarelli Symonds.
The University has also acquired ISO certification on environmental management systems (14001:2015) and upgraded its ISO certification on quality management systems from 9001:2008 to 9001:2015.
