In case you missed it, here are the top questions raised during the Academic Services Orientation held last August 11 and 12, 2020.

Enrollment Requirements

Can we just email all documents needed or do we need send it via courier?

Students must send original copies of required documents. Please send them via courier to the following addresses.

The deadline of submission is on September 18, 2020.


I cannot access "Manage Course." I am being asked to submit the Mandatory Random Drug Testing Acknowledgement Form.

“Manage Course” is a section in MyMapua that is applicable to freshmen students only on the 2nd term, when they can already choose and manage their courses.

When you have successfully submitted your enrollment documents and other forms, the Registrar's Office will validate and give you access to the “Manage Course” for your 2nd Term Enrollment.


Coursera

Is Coursera part of my tuition fee?

Coursera requires a separate payment from your tuition fees. You will be billed for Coursera upon subscription.


MyMapua and Cardinal EDGE

Is MyMapua different from Cardinal EDGE?

Yes. MyMapua is the student portal that allows you to manage your student profile and access your grades, important enrollment announcements, enrollment facility, payments and payment history. Cardinal EDGE is your learning management platform where you can access your courses and learning activities.


Do MyMapua and Cardinal EDGE have different passwords?

Yes. Your MyMapua and Cardinal EDGE default usernames and passwords were provided in your enrollment confirmation email and viewable via your Applicant Portal.


Why can't I access MyMapua?

For concerns on Cardinal Mail and MyMapua, you may email helpdesk@mapua.edu.ph.


If I change my Cardinal EDGE password, does it also automatically change my password in MyMapua?

It will not automatically change because MyMapua and Cardinal EDGE are different platforms.


I’ve already sent the random drug test form to registrar@mapua.edu.ph last July 22 using my Gmail. However, I still can’t access the “Manage Course” portion in MyMapua?

The Manage Course facility is not yet accessible to freshmen on the 1st term.

Do we get to keep our MyMapua and Microsoft accounts after we graduate?

Access to MyMapua and academic tools are available while you are a student of Mapúa.


Can I access MyMapua and Cardinal EDGE from my desktop and mobile phone?

Yes, you may access both from any device.


What will I do if I can't access my Cardinal EDGE account and I'm encountering problems with it?

For concerns on Blackboard, Cengage, Wiley, Panopto, METIS, and Coursera, you may email help.blackboard@mapua.edu.ph.

In your email, attach a screenshot of your dashboard to verify your concern.


Will our Senior High School Blackboard account still be the one used for College?

For Mapúa Senior High School graduates, you will continue to use your existing Cardinal EDGE accounts for college.


How do I correct my profile information in MyMapua account?

Email registrar@mapua.edu.ph to request for an update on your profile.


Library Services

How do I access Turnitin?

Email library@mapua.edu.ph or use Libchat to avail of the service.


Is it free to avail of Turnitin?

Your access to Turnitin is covered by the Library Fee, which is part of your miscellaneous fees.


How can I access the Mapúa Library online?

Steps on how to access the Library remotely:

  • Go to our Library webpage https://library.mapua.edu.ph/
  • Choose which electronic resources you want to have access to (eBooks or eJournals), then click on the link of the database.
  • You will be prompted to answer the following information:
    • Username: Enter your student number
    • Password: Enter your default password that is the last four digits of your student number. (NOTE: Students are required to change their passwords after accessing the Library webpage the first time.)
    • You may now view all full-text content to which the Library subscribes.


When is the Library available to Freshmen students?

The Library will be accessible at the start of the Academic Year.


Academic Services

How do we know the Zoom schedule for each subject?

Access to and details of your synchronous classes will be posted on Cardinal EDGE, inside Courses and/or Course Messages.

Can we send a private message to our professors through social media channels about our academic concerns?

Professors and instructors will tell you the communication channels that you will be using. In most cases, social media chat groups are acceptable. You may also send a message to your professor through Cardinal EDGE.


How do I know who my classmates are?

You can check your classmates in your Cardinal EDGE courses. You will also meet them in your synchronous classes.


What if I lose Internet connection during an exam?

You can communicate with your instructor and ask for another chance to complete the exam.


Will our cameras be required to be turned on during the classes?

In most cases, it is not. Your professor and instructor will let you know when it is necessary and required.

For NSTP, do we have to choose CWTS or ROTC?

In the 1st Quarter of AY 2020-2021, students shall be taking the same NSTP course. In the 2nd Quarter, students will be asked to choose between CWTS and ROTC.


Is NSTP required?

Yes, NSTP is a required course.


Will there be online classes during holidays?

The University observes National Holidays. Official announcements are made through Mapúa’s FB page.


Are we required to attend the Welcome Ceremony and orientation sessions or should we attend classes?

Yes, freshmen are required to attend these online activities.


What do I do on my first day of classes?

New College Freshmen and Grade 11 students will be attending the Welcome Week Ceremony at 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

New College Freshmen will attend the School Services Orientation at 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Outside of these of activities, regular class schedules will be observed on the first day.

Students are required to log in to their Cardinal EDGE for instructions from the professors on how the class will be conducted.
