To complement the outcomes-based approach to education the university created the Continuous Quality Improvement Office (CQIO) in 2004. The office has the mandate to move the schools consistently toward higher levels of attainment of the program educational objectives and desired student learning outcomes of the academic programs. In doing so, it ensures that the university implements the P-D-C-A (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach to continuous quality improvement including the maintenance of its quality and environmental management systems (QMS, EMS). The office conducts internal quality audits to check compliance with mandatory, statutory and regulatory requirements, and supervises and coordinates all activities relevant to the accreditation of academic programs by both local and international accrediting bodies.

Accreditations and Recognitions of Mapúa Academic Programs

  1. Ten (10) programs recognized as Centers of Excellence (COE) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
  2. One program recognized as a Center of Development (COD) by CHED
  3. Eleven (11) programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET
  4. Three (3) programs accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET
  5. Eight (8) programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Philippine Technological Council – Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET)
  6. Three (3) programs accredited by the Philippine Computer Society (PCS) Information and Accreditation Board (PICAB)
  7. Twenty-one (21) programs accredited at various levels by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA)
