Special Trainings/Seminar-Workshops/Orientation Programs

In line with its goal of supporting the school in providing the means to help the students achieve their optimum potentials, the Center for Guidance and Counseling also conducts various seminars to cater the specific needs of students.

Furthermore, it also seeks to provide insights that will help the school community and faculty members to more clearly understand the dynamics of the students’ capabilities, academic needs, and learning styles.

Parenting Seminar

The center does not limit its concern with regards to developing the students’ total well-being to school. It also reaches out to involve the students’ social environment and seeks to maintain linkages with their support groups such as family and community. Through activities such as the “Parenting Seminar”, the center provides opportunities for the parents and guardians to have an encounter with their children with some worthwhile activities which will help them become aware of their children’s endeavors not only in school but in entirety.

Guidance Society of Mapua

The Guidance Society of Mapua (GSM) is the student-service arm of the Center for Guidance and Counseling. The GSM is composed of service-oriented and talented Mapuans who are sharing their time and effort in the service of their fellow students. The Center for Guidance and Counseling believes in developing the students to their optimum potentials. Consequently, the guidance counselors train the peer facilitators and peer counselors to have self realization and to become well-adjusted and well-rounded individuals, who are Filipino in spirit and global in outlook. The CGC hopes that in return, the GSM members will help their fellow students in their personal growth and development as well as to assist the guidance counselors in the implementation of the guidance program.

Extension Services

Part of the educational philosophy of the school, the Center for Guidance and Counseling, hand in hand with the GSM (Guidance Society of Mapua), upholds its social responsibility by providing services for special groups. These include outreach programs which aim to share invaluable offerings with the indigent children-patients of its adopted beneficiaries, especially during the Christmas season. The program is usually culminated through sharing and gift-giving activities.
