This is a new program developed for you, the undergraduate students of Mapúa Institute of Technology.

Our program is to assign each one of you a (faculty) academic adviser who will assist you in your stay here in the Institute. Your academic adviser will be there mainly to monitor your academic performance. However, you may also seek your adviser’s assistance on your other possible concerns in Mapúa. Your advisers are trained to handle different situations and to endorse you to proper offices/channels for other concerns beyond their capabilities.

In conjunction with this program, we also have the Peer Advising Program, which is tutorial in nature. For more information about the Peer Advising Program, please visit us at CSA.

This is for every student of Mapúa.

This is a free service offered by Mapúa Institute of Technology to

• Assist you in the development of your academic plans
• Increase the chances for you to complete your program of study by helping you adjust to college life

We would like to emphasize that this program is not specifically designed, thus not limited to, students who have academic difficulties; although this program would be very beneficial for them as well.

When you continue availing the program, you will have easier way of coping with college life; of learning the do’s and don’ts in college from a professor’s point of view; of maximizing all the student support that Mapúa is offering; and many other invaluable benefits that would ultimately contribute to your better chances of finishing your studies in Mapúa under the guidance and supervision of your trained academic adviser.

Just see your Advising Coordinator or Academic Adviser at the faculty room (depending on your program) and register.

If you do not know your Advising Coordinator or Academic Adviser or which faculty room to go to, you may also visit us at CSA.

You still have to see your Advising Coordinator or Academic Adviser to register, and then fill out another form if you do not wish to avail of the program.

It will not affect your present or future professional relationships with your professors if you do not avail of the program. This is a program that we believe would help you, but we would not force anybody to avail of the program. If you decide not to avail of the program, we will totally respect your decision.
