Overview
The School of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (EECE) is an academic
unit of Mapúa Institute of Technology comprising three engineering programs, namely,
Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics Engineering (ECE), and Computer Engineering
(CpE).
The initialism for the school’s name was changed from EE-ECE-CoE to EECE due to
the following reasons: (1) the change in the nomenclature of ECE, from Electronics
and Communications Engineering to Electronics Engineering as mandated by the new
Electronics Engineering Law or the RA 9292; and (2) the new initialism for Computer
Engineering, from CoE to CpE, which the Commission on Higher Education prescribed.
