Advance Placement Examination

The Advanced Placement Examination (APE) is a NON-COMPULSORY examination to be taken by passers of the Mapúa Institute of Technology Entrance Examination who intend to enroll in the Institute. Only incoming freshmen, or those who are about to start their first quarter in Mapúa, are eligible to take the APE conducted by the respective Schools/Departments.

APE passers may be given advanced credits in general education courses only (i.e. Mathematics, Chemistry, English, Filipino and Rizal). Passing the examination may also allow the students to take higher courses. For example, if a student passes the APE for Filipino 1, he is given two options - sign up for Filipino 2 or take the APE for Filipino 2 so he may be given an advanced credit.

Examination fee is P1, 500 per course.

Note: Transferees and bachelor’s degree holders are not qualified to take the exam.
